Team Benchmark (Phemi & Chima). ## Projects ### Atlas Vision: Ask questions about a picture in English, Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa. https://heysomto.com/projects/atlasvision Category: hackathon. Type: Team. Role: Team member, SDK. Year: 2026. Status: Open source. Atlas Vision lets you ask questions about a picture in English, Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa and get the answer back in the same language. Show it a photo of two cats, ask in Igbo what is in it, and it answers in Igbo. It joins three pieces. SigLIP2 is the vision model that looks at the image. N-ATLaS is the language model that understands the African languages, and it is gated on Hugging Face, so it needs approved access and a token. Atlas Vision's own trained weights, a projector and a LoRA adapter, connect the two: the projector turns the image into something the language model can read, and the adapter teaches it to answer questions about images. We built Atlas Vision as Team HackFirst for the National AI Innovation Challenge 2026, a remote hackathon themed 'Build with N-ATLAS'. The challenge is run by Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy through NCAIR, with Awarri Technologies, and asks teams to build working solutions on N-ATLAS, Nigeria's open source multilingual language model. The team built an SDK, a Python package called testatlasvision with a client class named TestAtlasVision. We started from a working Colab notebook, kept its model logic and restructured it into proper modules, then made it safe to run behind a server, tested it, fixed the bugs that turned up and published it to PyPI. - Functions for asking, chatting in any of the four languages, describing an image, plus plain text and translate without an image. - Sessions that remember earlier questions, owned by the caller so different users never get mixed together. - A lock so requests take turns on the one GPU, and image loading that can block remote URLs. - Named errors such as AuthenticationError, GatedModelAccessError and ImageLoadError, so an API team can map them to HTTP codes. - Hugging Face login handling that checks access before the 16 GB download. - 34 offline tests that run without a GPU, plus a real GPU run in Colab, with CI on GitHub Actions. Challenge: Yoruba and Hausa answers were being cut off mid sentence, and the bad token check passed with a fake token because the Hugging Face library quietly returned a cached file. Solution: The translate back step now gets extra room so answers finish, and the token check no longer trusts the cache. Both fixes have tests so they stay fixed. Type: Solo. Role: Creator. Year: 2026. Status: Open source. Koyo is a Python web framework that mirrors the developer experience of Next.js. You write pages as Python files inside an app directory, and the folder structure becomes your routes. Bracketed folders create dynamic segments, a layout file wraps everything below it, and components are plain functions. It runs as a normal Python server, so any package from pip is available right away. Styling uses Tailwind, interactivity uses htmx 2.0, and a production build prerenders your routes to static HTML. The runtime is small: Starlette, Uvicorn, watchfiles, Typer and tomlkit. It is on PyPI as koyoapp, with documentation, a scaffolding command and a dev server with live reload. - File based routing with dynamic segments. - Nested layouts and Python components through a tag factory. - Tailwind styling, htmx interactivity and session state. - koyoapp build prerenders static routes with minified CSS. - pip install koyoapp, then koyoapp create and koyoapp dev. Built with: koyo, python, htmx, tailwind, pypi Link, PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/koyoapp/ Link, Documentation: https://justphemi.github.io/koyo-docs/ Link, GitHub: https://github.com/justphemi/koyo Link, Docs source: https://github.com/justphemi/koyo-docs ### Sigma: A Gen Z programming language that compiles to C. https://heysomto.com/projects/sigma Category: languages. Type: Solo. Role: Creator. Year: 2025. Status: Open source. Sigma is a compiled programming language with a clean, unmistakable syntax. You print with yap, declare variables with a colon, write conditionals with $if and $el and call functions with .run. It compiles to optimized C, so it stays fast even on low end machines. It ships as a single binary through the sig command, and a VS Code extension adds syntax highlighting and file icons. The compiler and runtime are written in C++. You can try Sigma right here: the playground below runs a small Sigma interpreter in your browser. - Dynamic typing with constants through $fixed. - Arrays, objects, loops, error handling and functions. - Compiles to optimized C for native speed. - VS Code extension with highlighting and icons. Built with: sigma, cpp Link, GitHub: https://github.com/justphemi/Sigma ### AtlasKit: An interactive SVG world map for React. https://heysomto.com/projects/atlaskit Category: languages. Type: Solo. Role: Creator. Year: 2025. Status: Open source. AtlasKit is an npm package that drops an interactive world map into any React app. It ships as @justphemi/atlas-kit with full TypeScript types, 154 countries you can reference by ISO code or by name, and no map tile servers: the map is pure SVG, around 180KB and tree shakeable. You can fill the map with a flat colour, a static gradient or a smoothly animated gradient. Markers can pulse, bounce or fade in, carry their own colours and data, and show tooltips with a custom renderer. Click and hover callbacks make it easy to build things like a sidebar for the selected country. It is accessible out of the box, with ARIA roles, labels and keyboard support, and it builds to both ESM and CommonJS. The playground below runs the real published package, so what you tweak is exactly what you would get from npm install. - 154 countries by ISO code or full name. - Flat, linear and animated SVG gradient fills. - Pulse, bounce and fade in marker animations, set globally or per marker. - Tooltips with a custom renderer, plus click and hover events. - ARIA roles and keyboard support, with ESM, CJS and TypeScript types. Built with: react, typescript, vite Link, Documentation: https://atlas-kit-docs.vercel.app Link, npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@justphemi/atlas-kit ### Maamba: Paste a URL, get an editable static site you own. https://heysomto.com/projects/maamba Category: ai. Type: Solo. Role: Creator. Year: 2026. Status: In development. Closed source. Maamba is a rebuild engine for websites. You paste a URL and it captures the visual layer, rewrites the JavaScript and exports an editable static site you fully own. The capture engine is written in Python. Scrapling and Playwright load a page the way a real browser does and pull out its visual layer, and a Next.js app wraps it with sign in through Google and GitHub, billing through Paystack and a Supabase backend. An MCP interface lets other tools drive it. I used Maamba to convert the Nexusbert marketing site into a clean React and Vite project, which is a good test of how real world pages come out the other side. - Visual capture and JavaScript rewriting in one pipeline. - Exports editable static sites with every section as a real component. - Google and GitHub sign in with Supabase and billing through Paystack. - MCP server so assistants can run conversions. Built with: nextjs, python, scrapling, playwright, typescript, supabase, tailwind, paystack, mcp ### Kitpager: The media kit builder for UGC creators. https://heysomto.com/projects/kitpager Category: products. Type: Founder. Role: Founder and CTO. Year: May 2026 to Present. Status: Live. Closed source. Kitpager is a live product at kitpager.com. A creator gets a public page such as kitpager.com/yourname that brings together their portfolio, audience stats, rates and a way for brands to reach them, so they stop juggling rates in notes, brand emails in an inbox and results in a camera roll. The product has moved well past an MVP. It ships with ten templates and thirty palettes, PDF export, a custom domain option, a pitch writer with templates and rate calculators, and a deal pipeline that follows a brand from first pitch to payment. Free and paid plans are live, and the site carries a changelog, a status page and a full set of legal and security pages. I founded Kitpager and I am its CTO. I set the product direction, own the architecture and build much of what creators and brands actually touch. - Verified stats for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube with an ownership badge and an updated date. - Brand inquiry flow where a brief or call booking lands in the creator dashboard. - Rates and services builder with suggestions based on niche and reach. - Deal pipeline from first pitch to payment on paid plans. - Ten templates and thirty palettes with PDF export. Challenge: Brands will not trust numbers that creators type in themselves, and creators do not want to export screenshots every month. Solution: Stats are pulled from connected accounts and ownership is proven with a code placed in the account bio, then shown with a badge and a last updated date so a brand can judge freshness at a glance. Built with: vite, react, typescript, javascript, python, supabase, cloudflare, firecrawl, apify, groq, gemini, pixabay, neon, upstash, deepl Link, Visit kitpager.com: https://kitpager.com ### Network Scout: Walk around your home and find the best network spot. https://heysomto.com/projects/networkscout Category: apps. Type: Solo. Role: Creator. Year: 2026. Status: Open source. Signal bars lie. You can have four bars on 4G and still watch a message hang. Network Scout tells you the truth. Open it, walk around your house or building, and it quietly measures your actual network quality at every spot. Every 500ms it reads the signal strength in dBm, the network type and the carrier. Every two seconds it fires a tiny ping to measure real latency. Together they make a live score from 0 to 100, and the app remembers the best spot it found. It is built with Flutter and Dart, ships as an Android APK, and uses almost no data: each ping is about 1 to 2KB, so thirty minutes of scanning costs under 2MB. - A live 0 to 100 score from real ping latency and signal strength. - Real dBm readings, not carrier bars. - Best spot tracker, plus a two minute graph of your signal as you move. - Shows the carrier and network type, from 2G to 5G. - The background shifts green, amber or red with signal quality, and the phone buzzes when it finds a new best spot. - Ultra low data use compared with speed test apps. Built with: flutter, dart, android Link, GitHub: https://github.com/justphemi/netscout Link, Download APK: https://github.com/justphemi/netscout/raw/main/build/app/outputs/flutter-apk/app-release.apk ### ClipEdge: A cross platform clipboard manager. https://heysomto.com/projects/clipedge Category: apps. Type: Solo. Role: Creator. Year: 2025. Status: Open source. ClipEdge is a cross platform desktop clipboard manager with a clean, minimal interface. It runs in the background, saves clipboard history automatically, and surfaces it from a floating menu and a history modal so any earlier copy is one click away. It is written in Java with a JavaFX interface, with separate pieces for the clipboard watcher, the history items, the floating menu, the modal and the settings. Build and packaging scripts produce installers for Windows, macOS and Linux, and GitHub Actions builds each of them. A small marketing site was built alongside it. - Saves clipboard history automatically, in the background. - A floating menu and a history modal to bring copies back in one click. - Windows, macOS and Linux builds from GitHub Actions. - Open source under the MIT license. Built with: java, github Link, GitHub: https://github.com/justphemi/clipedge Link, Download for Windows: https://github.com/justphemi/clipedge/actions/runs/18938825491/artifacts/4416610267 Link, Download for macOS: https://github.com/justphemi/clipedge/actions/runs/18938825491/artifacts/4416604117 Link, Download for Linux: https://github.com/justphemi/clipedge/actions/runs/18938825491/artifacts/4416608823 ### Orb: An AI learning browser for distraction free, structured learning. https://heysomto.com/projects/orb Category: hackathon. Type: Team. Role: Builder, with Chima and Nkiru. Year: 2025. Status: Won. Orb is an AI augmented learning browser, made for distraction free and structured learning. It is a real desktop app: Electron wraps a Next.js interface, and every web page opens in its own in app tab, so you never leave Orb to look something up. You type into one search bar and Gemini reads your intent. It classifies the query as plain browsing, learning, a mind map or a chat, and Orb responds to match. Select any text on a page and Orb explains it using the context of the page you are on. A Quick Chat panel slides in from the side for questions on the go, and Live Mode lets Orb follow along while you watch a video and explain it in real time. We built it as a team of three, Phemi, Chima and Nkiru, for Hack4FUTO 4.0 2025 and took first place. - One search bar that classifies intent: browse, learn, mind map or chat. - In app tabs, so looking something up never pulls you out of the page you were reading. - Select text on any page and get an explanation that knows the page context. - A Quick Chat side panel, and a Live Mode toggle from the Tools menu. - Google search for results and Gemini for understanding. - First place at Hack4FUTO 4.0 2025. Challenge: A learning tool fails the moment it pulls you out of what you are reading, and a separate chatbot window does exactly that. Solution: Orb is the browser itself. Pages open in its own tabs, and only the selected text and the page context are sent to Gemini, so the explanation arrives right where you are reading. Built with: electron, nextjs, react, typescript, gemini, tailwind Link, GitHub: https://github.com/justphemi/Orb ### Benchmark: Trust and escrow for online commerce in Nigeria. https://heysomto.com/projects/benchmark Category: hackathon. Type: Team. Role: Builder, with my team. Year: May 2026. Status: Shipped. Benchmark is a trust and escrow layer for online commerce in Nigeria, built on Squad's payment APIs for the Squad Hackathon, where we placed fourth out of about 1,600 entrants. It verifies vendors before they receive payment, so buyers stop sending money to people they cannot trust. A vendor is checked with a liveness test and a face match against a government ID. Buyer payments then sit in a dedicated Squad virtual account and are released to the vendor only after delivery is confirmed, or after 72 hours pass. A portable Trust Score updates with every transaction, dispute and on time delivery. Under the hood, an Isolation Forest model flags unusual payment velocity, amounts and hours, and an NLP model sorts buyer disputes and resolves the confident ones automatically. A JavaScript SDK, squadbenchjs, lets marketplaces and logistics platforms plug escrow and trust into their own products. - Vendor identity checks with liveness and ID face matching. - Escrow on Squad virtual accounts with release on delivery. - Portable Trust Score that buyers, platforms and vendors can see. - Fraud detection and automatic dispute classification. - A JavaScript SDK for marketplaces to integrate. Challenge: Social commerce vendors are mostly unverified, and payment providers move money well but say nothing about who is on the other end. Solution: Benchmark adds the missing layer. Squad handles the money, while Benchmark verifies the vendor, holds funds in escrow and scores trust over time. Built with: squadapis, javascript, vercel, isolationforest, nlp, squadbenchjs Link, Visit usebenchmark.vercel.app: https://usebenchmark.vercel.app/ ### Packguard: QR based product authentication against counterfeits. https://heysomto.com/projects/packguard Category: products. Type: Team. Role: Lead Web Developer and Designer. Year: 2026 to Present. Status: Live. Packguard helps manufacturers protect products from counterfeiting. Each unit carries a QR code that a buyer can scan to confirm it is genuine, and the manufacturer gets a live view of where and when scans happen. I led the web side end to end. That meant designing the visual system and component library in Figma, then building the public marketing site and the manufacturer dashboard so that design and code never drifted apart. The wider platform includes a backend and a blockchain layer built by teammates, which gives batches an auditable history. - Full design system and component library in Figma. - Manufacturer dashboard with batch management and scan analytics. - Geographic scan views and fraud flags for suspicious activity. - SEO and performance work across every public page. Built with: figma, react, typescript, tailwind, vercel Link, Visit packguard.org: https://packguard.org ### HelixQA: Test your AI before your users do. https://heysomto.com/projects/helixqa Category: ai. Type: Team. Role: Product and frontend engineer. Year: August 2026 to Present. Status: In development. HelixQA is a quality platform for teams shipping AI. It checks products for correctness, groundedness, instruction following, safety and regressions, so failures are caught before users meet them. Teams write test cases by hand or generate candidates with AI and approve them before saving. Suites run on demand, on a schedule or inside CI, and each run produces scores per quality dimension with failures and diffs. A REST API, webhooks and SDKs fit it into an existing pipeline. I build the product surface at Nexusbert: the marketing site on helixqa.tech and the frontend that sits on top of the HelixQA backend. The backend is provider agnostic and uses adapters, so customers are not tied to one model vendor. - Use cases for support AI, RAG assistants, internal copilots and agent workflows. - Deterministic scoring across testing, security, performance, quality and stability. - Regression detection by comparing versions before a release. - Workspace scoped API keys, access controls and data retention settings. Built with: nextjs, typescript, tailwind, cloudflare, python, fastapi, postgresql, docker Link, Visit helixqa.tech: https://helixqa.tech ### DOT Travels: Seat booking for university students, replacing a WhatsApp sign up sheet. https://heysomto.com/projects/dottravels Category: products. Type: Solo. Role: Designer and developer. Year: 2026. Status: Live. DOT Travels is the student transport booking platform for the Federal University of Technology Owerri, run with the Student Union Government Directorate of Transport. It replaces a manual WhatsApp sign up sheet with a real booking system. Students browse upcoming trips, choose a seat and pay through Squad. Seats are held for fifteen minutes during checkout, and after payment the seat is theirs with a downloadable PDF ticket. Every trip has a live chat, and drivers see the full passenger list and can look passengers up by code at boarding. Admins get separate dashboards for publishing trips, tracking revenue, reading feedback and managing a financial ledger, with an audit log behind every change. - Seat holding enforced in three layers, so double bookings cannot happen. - Live trip chat with a polling fallback. - Role based admin tiers: publisher, director of transport and platform admin. - Installable PWA with server generated PDF tickets. - Built entirely on free tier services so it costs nothing to run at campus scale. Challenge: Two students tapping the same seat at the same moment must never both succeed, and abandoned checkouts must not block seats forever. Solution: Seat locking relies on real database transactions and partial unique indexes in Postgres, with an hourly cron that releases expired holds. Built with: nextjs, react, typescript, tailwind, prisma, postgresql, vercel, squad, pusher, resend Link, Open the app: https://futotravels.vercel.app ### Upscale Learning and Development: A full training business website for a Port Harcourt provider. https://heysomto.com/projects/upscale Category: client.
